Low energy lighting saves 8,500kg of CO2 per annum.
The installation of T5 strip lighting in the offices to replace the old T8 and T12 fittings has delivered energy savings of 52% for the relatively modest investment means a payback of only 15 months. In the workshops savings are even more impressive, with a 63% reduction in energy use.
The existing 425W overhead fittings were replaced with halogen spiral lamps which deliver the same light output using only 85W. Again the payback period is just over 12 months.
